Module 1: U.S. Midterm Elections 2026. Politics in the US - how is it different?

The midterm elections in the U.S. are dominating the news, and we’re looking at a system that’s often unfamiliar to us—one that differs greatly from our German elections. It can quickly become confusing for an outside observer, and with this module, we’d like to take a closer look at this system and make it clearer for us.

In this first modul, we will get to know the unique aspects of the American system (states and the federal government, primaries vs. the general election, the House of  Representatives vs. Senate, the two-party system, etc.). which issues shape the election campaign, what are current challenges and  problems (money in politics, gerrymandering), etc.

This module will help you better understand the American system and its unique characteristics, particularly from a German perspective, with a focus on the differences.

Modules 1–3 can be booked individually.

A B1 Level of English or above is recommended.
