U.S. Midterm Elections 2026 : Get informed - choose one or more modules:  Monday, Nov 2nd - Tuesday,  Nov, 3rd. - Thursday, Nov 5th.

With major elections coming up in the U.S. in November, this mini-course gives participants an introduction to the peculiarities of the American political system (module 1, Monday, Nov 2nd) and the 2026 campaign in particular (module 2 on Tuesday, Nov 3rd), ending with a more open session for an overview and discussion of the election results and their implications (module 3 on Thursday, Nov 5th). All three modules can  be booked individually.

Module 2: U.S. Midterm Elections 2026. What is at stake? Issues, campaign, candidates

Ahead of the midterm elections in Donald Trump's second term, which issues are voters most concerned about? Which strategies do Democratic and Republican candidates pursue, and which races seem most competitive? How does gerrymandering impact election results? While polls are already open, we will discuss the 2026 campaign. We will work with authentic newspaper articles, videos, podcasts or other media and thus get some direct insight into the heated campaign.

Modul 2 is planned to be more interactive than module 1 as we want to discuss authentic content from across the Atlantic. It will therefore also serve as an exercise in reading and listening.

A B1 Level of English or above is recommended.
